Article by Daniel Perez,
Is the infamous WoW dead in the water? Could be… WoW was one of the most famous games on the market and their run truly lasted a long, long time. Is it over?
I read a lot of posts online and they all say the same thing WoW isn’t dying, but is truly? It’s very hard to say. Lets break it down:
The new cut scene’s :
If you are a big WoW fan you will notice that there are no cut scenes besides. This may seem very outdated since Swtor (Star Wars the Old Republic) has talkien cut scenes up the wazoo. Even the New Secret world has a massive amount of cut scenes to keep you engaged in the game. MMO’s are taking a new direction in the genre they are creating beautiful worlds that feel and play like single player games, but still have the depth of a MMO. In WoW all you have is boring lore (to some).
Combat seems slightly different:
If you are a fan of Tera then you know what I am talking about. You are able to play with an Xbox remote. Right there you see things are trying to be changed immediately. Even, The secret world… You have 14 capabilities and only 14, but you have over 500 abilities to get and try (7 are passive and 7 are active). These minor changes are veering people away towards the combat system of WoW.
Graphics:
Graphics may be the only thing that may keep people playing WoW, but is it enough for the fee they charge. No matter what system you have you can still play WoW. Even if you have a low-end PC you can still play, but of course not with the feel and capture of a high-end PC. The world is bright and full of colors, but this might stay in the child’s direction. Every Child out there is going to play WoW for sure. How about adults who want a deeper story with darker graphics?
The free “MMOs”
How about the Free MMO’s out there like DC Superheros and others. Do you think people want to pay a monthly fee or would rather switch to an old-fashioned free MMO? Of course they would. The titles are becoming so diverse that Free MMO’s are coming to the public like water. Which ones going to be the next hit.
My final Verdict:
World of Warcraft is far from dead, but it needs some type of major re-tooling. Blizzard should start development on a whole new type of Video Game like WoW 2 or something. I thinking that World of Warcraft isn’t dead, but it is dying.

Obviously a kinda late reply, but cmon, what a shallow look at the game
the majority of people that play the game dont care at all about lore, but it has one of the most complex combat systems out of all mmos, the free ones “coming out like water” simply dont have the elitism that you can get out of wow.
