OK fine I will do a review of this, if I have to, but you all owe me, I want some nice chocolates or something because this experience truly is painful and taxing.

The DLC picks up where Arkham City left off, Joker‘s dead, Gotham is STILL in turmoil and denial and Batman is moping around ,like Edward Cullen from the Twilight movies, looking all depressed and serious (He just killed THE most evil man in the DC mult-iverse and he’s SAD about that?!?)

Harley Quinn is in the same state of ‘Oh no The Joker’s dead what do I do now?’ that Batman is experiencing in contrast to what she should really be thinking which is; ‘Oh, the man who has had a homicidal grip on my proverbial collar, for the past sixty years is no longer around to boss me around, bully me and generally abuse me maybe I can lead a normal life now’ but no. What she does instead is decide that Batman is guilty of murdering The Joker (HOW?!?).

The DLC takes place in two time-frames, one of which is where Batman is up and walking around, wallpapering the streets with bad guy’s faces and generally just being aggressive. The other is where Batman has been kidnapped by Harley Quinn in revenge for the killing of her beloved ‘Mr J’, due to Batman‘s capture, Robin has to come to the rescue to try and retrieve him from Harley. Harley however has also kidnapped a few Police officers from around Arkham City and placed them into various rooms filled with bad guys who have really big guns and really bad impulse control problems. The story doesn’t play out as well as the main game and it is, quite frankly, too short.

I feel that if Rocksteady had taken a little more care when putting this together then it may have received a good review from me, but as it stands, it’s awful, it’s short, full of holes and very UN-satisfying. The whole thing ends on a giant anti-climax, no answers are offered as to what happens to any of the characters, Batman escapes, Harley is captured and Robin appears looking all smug and annoying, for me the DLC just isn’t worth the price, wait for a pack to be released that contains DLC already (GOTY maybe) then play that because the only satisfying thing about this DLC is that you get to play as Robin who is better in contrast than Batman because he doesn’t solve everything by hitting it, kicking it or deploying ‘anti-bad-guy’ spray at it.

It just doesn’t work.
