Have you ever watched a movie and wished that you had control of what a character does or does not do? Well, you can now. Stay Dead is a new game released by BRUCEfilm, and it’s not your ordinary game. It’s a motion picture game, with environmental stages, and cinematographic direction; a union of video games and movies. Experience the real time interaction in a movie with this all new motion picture game, Stay Dead.
Possibly the birth of a new generation of gaming experience can be found here. Images are shot in live action with film-direction styles, and when combined with the elements of a modern day video game, BRUCEfilm has created a new, unique and involving experience. While one person plays the game, another will be watching it as a movie.
One would question how can you freely move your character around when we’re dealing with live action shots and real people? Well, BRUCEfilm claims that Stay Dead allows players to freely move their characters just like any regular arcade-style game, and characters can perform more than 150 different techniques.
Features of the game include:
- Fast arcade action
- Different martial arts
- 150 different techniques
- Auto-adaptable skill levels
- Achievements
Is this a step forward in the way we experience video games? Will this be a success? Can we find others who will follow suit? Personally, I’m not sure how this will play out. Playing as real life people add a whole new element to the world of video games. I can imagine that a stronger sense of protection towards your character will emerge because it will look as if a real person is getting hurt as opposed to a CGI character. It’s an interesting ploy, and I’m curious to see where it goes. Stay Dead is available for PC, MAC, and iPAD and can be purchased at www.stay-dead.com. Check out the trailer below.
