Square Enix has announced that FINAL FANTASY III will be set for launch on the new gaming console OUYA when it comes out in March 2013. First of all, what is OUYA? Some of you may be unfamiliar with the upcoming new console. OUYA is a new gaming console built with Android-based hardware intended to be played on the television with gaming controllers. OUYA will be affordable, powerful, and an alternative to traditional gaming consoles with games that are free to play.
Back to FINAL FANTASY III. The game was first released in 1990, and was the first game in the series to become a one million-seller, setting the foundation for the longstanding franchise of FINAL FANTASY. A 3D remake was released in 2006 and also sold over one million copies, a nod to its original predecessor. Now Square Enix has fitted it to perform on the OUYA and will mark the beginnings of a potential success for this new console.
