Let us talk about the price of games recently, and when we look at it, it really is a great time to be a gamer. Games are technically cheaper than they have ever been ( taking inflation into consideration, and not talking dlc).
I was talking to someone the other day who hasn’t gamed since ps1 and told them the price of games these days, and they just thought it was too much.
But let’s turn back time, when ps1 came out RRP was £50, that was around 18 years ago. £50 then was a lot more than £50 now, I’m not sure what its like in other territories but here in the UK gamers these days are getting games cheaper than they ever have.
But now let’s talk about the other side of the coin, DLC! This is one of the main reasons the RRP has stayed pretty much the same, a £50 game will have content locked or taken out only to be given to us at a later date if we decide to spend more money to access it. But that’s a whole different story.
So how do you feel about the price of gaming these days? Are you happy or do you wish it was like the old days when a £50 game was the full game and not £50 + dlc is the full game of today.

I think the price of gaming is fair, I’ve not yet paid more than £40 for any new gen game,
As for DLC, map packs and extra missions is fine by me, what I don’t like are games like Forza 5, a lot of the races you need cars that cost so much that realistically you can’t complete the game without paying out real money to unlock them, eg the Renault f1 car, to have that it costs £15, yes £15 WTF!!!! An absolute rip off, compare that with the GTA4 and RDR DLC which was priced the same and it’s easy to see why gamers can get annoyed.
i remember paying 50 pound for sonic and knuckles on the sega. Thats around 70-80 euro now!
